Just returned from Florida

May 12, 2012 at 5:55 pm (miami, personal, Travel)

I went to visit my parents in Palm Beach for the first time in years. Everything better then I expected.  They are just living a quiet life, buying and renting real estate, and growing organic produce. I spent several days with them, then headed to Miami for the remainder of the trip for a few days of food/beach/shopping.

The flight was so short and easy I may return for occasional weekend trips. Overall, I had a great time.

Good-bye Los Angeles

September 4, 2011 at 2:09 am (Los Angeles, personal, Travel)

It’s true, I have spent the last 3 days in LA packing and throwing things out.  I came back to Los Angeles earlier this year because I took a commission based job and apartment here when it was proven the short stint I did in Las Vegas wasnt going to work out. Well at first the job and money here were okay but not great. Then, money started slipping.  I went from making decent income to around $135 a week of which $100 was spent on the gas it took to get to work.  When I went to New York last month I looked into other jobs and found one that paid 10 times more than what I was originally making here.  Therefore I’m leaving LA

I used to think I hated it here when I moved here in 2006.  I lived in Hollywood first.  My neighbors would take my to these “Off the chain industry parties!”.  I’d find no important people, no gift bags, and lots of aspiring actresses that would talk about how they are there to “network”.  I’d go back to New York sometimes 3 times a month and miss how my life was before LA.

But once I left Hollywood, I met some of the most genuine friends I’ve ever had in my life here.  I realized I didn’t hate LA, I hated the Hollywood scene.

I am moving back to New York tomorrow because I have an offer that will make 10 times more than what I was making here back in January when I was doing well.  I guess I will enjoy my vacations here someday in the future, but living here i don’t see working out again, unless there is a major economic comeback.  I don’t see that happening, unfortunately.

Mixed feelings: I’m going upstate for Hurricaine Irene

August 26, 2011 at 10:56 pm (New York, personal, Travel, Uncategorized)

First off, I seem to remember two other hurricaines called Irene. One was a category 2 storm that hit South Florida a little over 10 years ago. I didn’t event know it was going to hit. I was moving into a new waterfront apartment in Palm Beach. My cable and phone were not on yet. It was before the days that everyone had a cellphone. I was sceduled for work 30 miles away in Pompano Beach. I drove there. It was closed. Drove back through the flood. Huge trees were in in the road. I watched telephone polls fall and spark. I made it home and attended a neighbors hurricane party.

Talk about young and stupid.

Ordenarly, I’d weather a storm. I did that one plus two other category 4 storms in South Florida while I resided there. But here’s the thing; most Florida consruction is made to withstand those types of winds. Most of New York’s pre-war construction was not. Plus I am currently in Lower Manhattan, surrounded by water on 3 sides in a basement apartment.

It’s a no-win. It’s going to be horendous trying to leave with hundreds, if not thousands of others with the same idea. I booked a room upstate for a couple of nights. I’m hoping this is all over soon and I can get back in the city again by Monday afternoon. That’s all I have to say. Who knows, maybe it’ll miss. Let’s hope so.

Tips for 405 closure

July 15, 2011 at 7:28 pm (Los Angeles, Travel, Uncategorized)

405 Closure Facts

Start: Friday, July 15, 7:00 p.m.
End: Monday, July 18, 5:00 a.m

Northbound 405: Closed between I-10 and U.S. 101
Southbound 405: Closed between U.S. 101 and Getty Center Drive Ramp
Things to Know About Alternate Routes During this Closure

Sepulveda Boulevard: Intended as alternate route for local resident access only. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate freeways to completely bypass the Sepulveda Pass.
Wilshire Blvd. at Sepulveda: Reduced by one center lane in each direction (center lanes have temporarily become left turn lanes).
Mulholland Drive: Closed at endpoints of Mulholland Bridge.
Pacific Coast Highway: An ongoing construction project from Temescal Canyon Road to Entrada Drive will result in a reduced number of southbound lanes on PCH through August, further contributing to gridlock. (UPDATE: These lanes will be opened for July 16 and 17 ONLY)
Church Lane (south): Closed between Sunset Boulevard and Kiel Street throughout the summer.
Roscomare Road, Beverly Glen Boulevard, Benedict Canyon Drive, and Coldwater Canyon Drive: While no closures are planned on these roads, expect extremely heavy traffic during the 405 closure weekend.
Planned Closures of Businesses/Attractions

The Getty Center: Closed Saturday and Sunday, July 16 and 17
The Skirball Cultural Center: Closed Saturday and Sunday, July 16 and 17
Some banks, restaurants, and other businesses in the area may be closed; call ahead before attempting to brave traffic.
How to Cope

Best idea: Avoid travel altogether and stay home. We have a few ideas for things to keep you busy here.
Encourage out-of-town guests to visit another weekend.
Walk or bike: You can use Google Maps to help you find the estimated travel time if you walk or bike. You might be surprised by just how quickly you can get around without a car.
Take the Metro: The Metro Red, Purple, Orange Lines, and some bus lines (below) will be free to all passengers during the closure weekend. While other Metro services will collect normal fares, there will be extra buses running, particularly on east-west streets.
2 Downtown LA-Pacific Palisades via Sunset Bl

Metro Red/Purple Line
If you must travel by car: Check services like Google Maps and Waze for local traffic updates BEFORE leaving home. These can help you find the best alternate route. However, you should still expect severe delays wherever you go.
If you’re traveling by car, be sure to fill up your gas tank several days before July 15. The last thing you want is to run out of gas in stop-and-go traffic. Keeping a few bottles of water and snacks in the car is also a good idea.
If you’re flying into or out of a Los Angeles Area airport: Expect to add significant additional travel time between the airport and your next destination.

Condoms in porn

June 11, 2011 at 4:28 pm (adult, Health, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Travel, Uncategorized)

In the last weeks Cal/OSHA meeting there was a huge industry upset in that they were informed that they are requred by law to use condoms at all times in film, simulate popshots, and no internal cumshots. They said that they are legaly required to do so and have been for at least 10 years. Twitter among the industry went crazy, very angry upset tweets. Many said they would just move to Miami or Vegas to shoot. But is that the best answer? It’s not legal to shoot in either city. People in the valley don’t seem to understand that the whole world isn’t porn valley. If a few insidents take place it could cause a lot of problems. I have even heard that if you shoot in Las Vegas, you could face 10 years in jail. Who knows how true that is. Personally, I don’t want to find out.

On the bright side, and I know nobody wants to hear it, but I’ve had beautiful, above porn quaility model-type girls, and some being actual models and actresses tell me they would be interested in porn, but ‘oh yeah there are no condoms and I don’t want to catch (fill in STD here.) I’ve met other retired girls, some of which were huge name AVN winners that said they would love to shoot again but not without a condom because they feel they can’t be exposed to more STDs. So in some ways I think the quality of performers could get to be very good from this.

I can remember before I got in the industry watching hot movies from companies like VCA and Vivid that showed condoms but they were well done feature films. I remember watching non-condom movies and they were hot also but there was a part of me in the back of my mind that wondered about STD exposure.

If the indusrty does in fact have to go back to using condoms, maybe they should also go back to putting out a higher-end product rather than the gonzo, here’s a couch, here’s some florecent lights, girl fucks, girls gets cum in her face prototype. They may argue that the higher end will lose money but in all honesty because of over-satuation and Internet piracy they will all be losing money regardless. Porn is no longer a get rich quick sceeme and may never be again.

Interpol issues arrest warrent for Lupe Fuentes

March 23, 2011 at 4:24 pm (adult, Travel, Uncategorized)

From AVN.com:

LOS ANGELES—According to numerous Spanish-language news reports, Interpol is seeking the arrest of Lupe Fuentes in connection with a child pornography investigation into the activities of her ex-husband, Pablo Lapiedra.

The investigation into Lapiedra began in late 2008 when the Technological Investigation Brigade (BIT) of Spain, Colombia’s National Police and Interpol uncovered a teenage prostitution ring in which one of its members, a 16-year-old Colombian girl, appeared in pornographic films for Lapiedra, according to ColombiaReports.com.

The multi-agency investigation into Lapiedra was prompted by a complaint from a school in Medellin, Colombia, after it surfaced that one of its students, the 16-year-old girl, appeared in a porn video. According to ElPeriodico.com, Lapiedra was identified as the cameraman in the videos.

The scenes in question appeared on PabloLapiedra.com, Zuleidy.com and ZuleidyLapiedraStar.com, according to ElPais.com—sites registered to his former wife, Colombian citizen Zuleidy Piedrahita, aka Lupe Fuentes.

Fuentes, a white-hot sensation in the U.S. adult film industry and current Wicked Pictures contract star, is divorced from Lapiedra and now lives in the U.S.

According to the AFP, the student testified, “Zuleidy was by colleges in Medellín and Bello, offering the students to participate in films.

“Before appearing in the video [the girl] was made to sign some papers which have a different name and pretended to be older.”

Lapiedra was arrested late last week in Spain. According to WRadio.com.co, he deceived the girls by telling them the videos he wanted them to appear in were for a “casting call” and then provided them with false documentation so they could pass for legal age.

A Colombian judge will decide on Monday if Lapiedra will be extradited to Spain.

At press time Fuentes’ official site, ILoveLupe.com, was offline.

Fuentes had not responded to a request for comment at post time.

TSA Agents Say They Don’t Want to Touch Your Junk

November 21, 2010 at 7:34 am (Travel, Uncategorized)

From Gawker:

“Don’t touch my junk” is the rallying cry of the harassed traveler; “I do not want to be here all day touching penises,” is the dejected slogan of the TSA agent. Won’t anyone think of the junk-touchers?

The furor over the TSA’s new pat-down techniques has made America junk crazy! Until a couple weeks ago, we were all content with letting our junk sink slowly into disuse and disrepair, occasionally catching a glimpse of it in the mirror and recoiling with horror. All of a sudden, though, our junk has become a precious jewel that must be protected from TSA domination. People are talking about naked protests in airports, proudly displaying their junk, where before even a glimpse of one’s junk through an open fly could spell social ruination.
But, listen, travelers. Your junk is kind of gross. Especially to the TSA agents tasked with touching said junk. The travel blog Flying With Fish spoke to a bunch of Transportation Security Officers about the TSA’s new “enhanced” pat-down techniques. They pretty much resent the policy, and they really don’t like touching your junk:
Yesterday a passenger told me to keep my hands off his penis or he’d scream. Is this how a 40 year old man in business attire acts? He’ll scream? My 3 year old can get away with saying he’ll scream, but a 40 something business man? I am a professional doing my job, whether I agree with this current policy or not, I am doing my job. I do not want to be here all day touching penises.
Ouch. It’s like if the British had seen all that tea floating in Boston Harbor, shrugged and said, “Who cares? The stuff’s all shit anyway.” [via the Guardian]
