I last chatted with Richard in January of this year on Facebook. I was speaking to Keith Richards last month. I asked him when the last time was he saw Richard. Keith said it had been a few years. I chatted with Susan Anton, Susan gave me the very sad news. I was absolutely shocked. I was able to Thank Richard for the wonderful photographs he took of the Riegelman Boardwalk, part of the Cony Island Boardwalk. Which is named f Uncle Ned, the Hon. Edward Riegelman. He was the President of Brooklyn, Sheriff of Kings County, & appointed to the New York Supreme Court by Franklyn Delano Roosevelt.. My daughter is affianced to Steven Delano of the same family.
I was able to Thank Richard personally in 2008, in New York when I was there with my younger daughter Connor.
Richard requested that I put the family photos of Uncle Ned, and my Great Grandfather, Deputy Chief “Capt.” William E. Coles NYFD. & on Facebook, for Richard, I shall happily do this.
May it help his Mother & Father to know what a wonderful son Richard was. I am so saddened by Richard’s sudden passing. I had hoped to see him again this year. I’m sure I will.
We have lost a great & good friend. May it help his family to know that others are thinking of your family with deepest sympathy and heartfelt understanding. I have notified Prince Harry & the Royal Family and all my friends overseas that Richard photographed so many times.
With kind regards & deepest sympathy
